Memories Preservation MultiMedia produces documentary of Huruma Childrens Home, Ngong, Kenya Africa for Cornerstone Church (Chandler, AZ).
In the summer of 2008, 25 volunteers, from many different backgrounds, circumstances, vocations and ages followed their calling to go to Kenya to serve in a mission outreach to the Huruma Children’s Home in Ngong.
Huruma Children’s Home is a children’s orphanage located at the undulating slopes of the beautiful Ngong hills which is about 25km from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya in East Africa. This is unfortunately also a relatively poor area where most people have to struggle every day to make ends meet. Poverty, poor health, HIV/AIDS and massive unemployment are the main challenges people meet. Many children are orphans or live in families that are not able to care for them at all.
In 1989, Mama Zipporah (as she’s called by just about everyone) and her husband, Pastor Isaac Kamau Mungai, opened their doors to some of the destitute and orphaned children of the Ngong area.
Huruma Children’s Home started by accommodating seven children, but over the years the number of children increased, and now Huruma caters for over 150 children, both girls and boys.

The client telephoned MPMM and explained that they were interested in finding an artist to create a caricature rendering illustrating a true life experience of the two performers driving in their Jeep to to a ‘gig’ when suddenly while heading down a steep incline temporarily lost control of the vehicle and the contents of the Jeep, including fishing rods, camping gear and instruments were thrown in all directions.
MPMM advised client that they could prepare some renderings and then given only these verbal directions produced the exhibits posted below and submitted them to the client for their review.
Exhibit 1. Sepia Parchment
Exhibit 2. Colorized
Initial comments from client were that they though the renderings were ‘just incredible’ given only the verbal directions over the phone and how quickly they were produced (3 days). The client expressed a preference towards Exhibit 1. Sepia tone on parchment for the final CD Cover Art.

George and Duane do a duo act with acoustic guitars and fiddles, mainly playing at bars, family reunions, BBQ’s and more.
They started over 25 years ago at the Punkin Center Store in… Punkin Center, AZ. The store had a bar in it at the time. Anyway, they were campin’ and fishin’ at Roosevelt Lake and decided to head into the metropolis of Punkin Center for a beer.
When they arrived, the bar keep recognized George and asked if they had guitars with ‘em. They did and hardly go any place without ‘em. So out to their Jeep, grabbed their guitars, came back in, sat on some stools and commenced to pickin’ and grinnin’.
There were 7 or 8 folks in the bar when they started. The bartender told ‘em they could drink beer for free… as long as they played. What an invite! So, they played songs they normally played as Mogollon, sang songs they wrote about the area, fishin’, campin’, and more.
They played fiddles, told jokes, laughed and had a blast! By the time the Hamm’s Beer clock said it was closing time, the place was standing room only! Folks were dancin’, singin’ along and havin’ a good ‘ol small town good time.
Since then, George and Duane booked over a dozen shows a year as the G-D RoadShow.
